we understand that Homestake Gold held 82% of Lachlan and made an offer to acquire the other 18% through a selective capital reduction. Essentially the 18% of non-Homestake Lachlan shareholders voted in favour of the reduction and received about 7 cents a share (an independent expert determined this price to be fair and reasonable). Lachlan became a wholly owned subsidiary of Homestake and consequently ceased to be listed on the ASX. Lachlan continues to exist as a subsidiary of Homestake. As Homestake was taken over by Barrick Gold the ultimate parent of Lachlan is now Barrick - Barrick's shares trade under the ticker symbol ABX on the Toronto, New York, London and Swiss stock exchanges, as well as the Paris Bourse.
