we understand BHP and Mitsubishi through their jointly owned bidding vehicle MetCoal Holdings launched a cash takeover offer for all the shares in QCT Resources Limited at $1.20 per share - the offer was later increased to $1.30 per share with shareholders also receiving the fully franked 10 cents a share special dividend announced by QCT on Friday 13 October, 2000
